NCVA Raises £192 for Children in Need 2025

This week, our staff, volunteers and participants came together to support Children in Need with plenty of music, smiles and community spirit. From start to finish it was all about having fun while raising money for a fantastic cause.

We kicked off the week with Tea and IT, where staff and volunteers set up a microphone, speaker and projector for a karaoke-style singalong including a lively version of Sweet Caroline!

We continued the celebrations on Tuesday morning with the main event where we all took turns and sang and danced to over 35 songs from Oasis to Elvis. In collaboration with Northumberland County of Sanctuary we were also able to have some wonderful singing and dancing later in the day, adding even more fun raising more money.

Our Supported Volunteer Coordinator Julie Fox, organised the event and sang for a total of seven hours, helping to raise an incredible £192.26.

A big thank you to all the staff, volunteers, and participants who made this such a joyful event.

With thanks to The Buffs – Ashington RAOB and Station M.O.T Centre for their kind donations, and to everyone who helped make the day such a success. As Sarah, drop-in coordinator at NCOS said, “It’s given the group a space to express themselves.”

Funding to support opportunities is provided in collaboration with North East Combined Authority and North Tyneside VODA.
