Helping Northumberland Groups win funding
In the last 18 months we have helped community groups in Northumberland raise £1.9 million!
Keeping people in touch during COVID
With the support of our existing volunteers, we kept in touch with our older service users via telephone and email to check they are safe and well, to have a good chat, give information on what was going on in their area, provide a friendly ear and practical advice
Supporting our 512 members
We provide continued support to our 512 Northumberland CVA members, as well as our VCA Assembly members currently standing at 400+.
Delivering 5 bite-size funding fairs
Working closely with the Tyne & Wear and Northumberland Community Foundation, including promoting funding opportunities available from the Lough Fund, Ray Wind Farm, North Steads & Sisters Wind Farm and Northumberland County Council Community Chest.
Finding volunteering opportunities
In the last 18mths we have posted 145 new volunteering opportunities, helping people make a real difference in their communities.
Keeping members up-to-date
Throughout the year we published 36 fortnightly and additional e-bulletins with the latest information on legal changes, funding, good practice and helpful hints for charities and community groups.
Connecting groups
Thanks to Vodaphone’s Charities Connected we have provided 100 SIM cards free to community groups in Northumberland.
Skills for everyone
Weekly ‘Tea & IT’ sessions help people get the idea of digital skills whether they have some experience or none. E-mail, using price comparison sites, online shopping and staying safe online.
