Stomping Grounds North East CIO

Purpose of the role

The Finance Officer will support the Chief Executive Officer, Commercial Manager and Kindergarten Manager in the financial operation of Stomping Grounds North East CIO and will report to the Commercial Manager.

Main responsibilities

  • Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering data into accounting software (quickbooks/xero).
  • Monitoring grant expenditure against funding.
  • Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure.
  • Payroll support.
  • Accessing and claiming early years funding using relevant online portals.
  • Paying vendor invoices, issuing purchase orders and tracking bank account balances.
  • Debtor and Creditors processing, payments and following up.
  • To carry out other duties compatible with the role purpose as reasonably required or as directed by the Trustees.

Essential requirements:

  • A commitment to Stomping Grounds Mission and Values.
  • An ability to work calmly and methodically in a fast paced and varied environment.
  • Previous experience in bookkeeping or finance administration roles, with a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero, with the ability to manage financial records accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain organised and up-to-date records.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Good IT skills.

Desirable requirements:

  • Familiarity with grant funding applications and reporting requirements.
  • Experience with payroll processing and understanding of relevant tax regulations.
  • Certification in bookkeeping or accounting (e.g., AAT qualification).

Salary

£22,500 -28k pro rata based on skills and experience.

Hours and terms

Minimum of 2 days a week, however we would consider additional days or a full time post to secure the right candidate. Minimum 14 hrs per week (can be fixed or flexible).

Attendance at some external events and meetings required.

Pro rata 25 days holiday per annum plus 8 bank holidays and employer’s pension scheme.

Location

Flexible combination of home-working and use of our office space in Chopwell.
