Engage
Engage is an exciting new service delivered by NCVA. Aimed at those over fifty, the project works to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of those across Northumberland. Engage will enable access to a range of existing or newly developed community activities and events to promote social connections, improve mental health and wellbeing and reduce loneliness and social isolation. Some samples of activities are shown above.
Engage Photography Project
Richard Alderton, Engage participant, wanted to continue his passion for photography but also to share his skills with others. Julie Fox, Engage Project coordinator, honed Richard’s passion and consulted with the Engage steering group, participants, and volunteer buddies to design a smart phone photography course where individuals receive one to one support and are then slowly introduced to a volunteer buddy leading to attending the photography group independently as their confidence develops.
