Working with the Management Team to promote Border Links in a positive and inclusive manner on our social media platforms and website. Assisting Operations Manager and Quality Manager with admin tasks where required.
Border Links runs sessions and events in Amble, Berwick, Cornhill, Duns and Kelso. We also support and promote events run by similar organisations.
A. Duties and responsibilities specific to post:
- To promote the principles of Rights, Independence, Choice and Inclusion as outlined in the Government White Paper ‘Valuing People’.
- To update the website when and where required with events, new opportunities and information.
- To consult with relevant staff to create, update and maintain the diary of events.
- Support staff with their different enterprises where and when required
- To assist in developing ‘local community links’ with others, e.g. voluntary and community agencies, and to help facilitate ‘social inclusion’ by promoting events and opportunities run by Border Links and or other organisations.
- To support promoting workspace and event space at The Ramparts, assist in managing diary of events/bookings
- To maintain and update the database, sending out invitations prior to events.
- To assist the Operations Manager and Quality Manager in the day-to-day admin tasks e.g printing and dissemination of policies, contact and permission forms, monthly invoicing.
- To cover social media feeds during holiday periods and develop social media platforms
- To undertake where possible additional hours where necessary to help with holiday cover.
- To operate in line with the philosophy, aims, objectives and standards of the Border Links service which promotes equal opportunities for all.
- To assist with regular Health & Safety checks/monitoring.
- To undertake relevant training as directed by Border Links Management
B. Duties and Responsibilities shared by all employees
Quality Assurance
All Border Links staff are accountable for the quality of their own work. All will be expected to adhere to the quality procedures applicable to the post, and to ensure that all users of services have their needs and expectations identified and fulfilled.
Communication
To attend staff meetings and briefing sessions as required and to be fully conversant with the Border Links procedures, policies and objectives. To participate in effective liaison within the Border Links team.
Health Safety
All staff are expected to comply with the organisation’s Health and Safety arrangements and procedures and have a responsibility to advise their line manager of any issues or concerns which may impact upon the provision of a safe and healthy environment.

Training and Development
Border Links has in place an induction programme designed to help new employees to become effective in their roles and to understand the ethos, aims and objectives of the organisation. All members of staff will receive on-going training and support relevant to their roles. Additional training needs and opportunities will be identified through the Staff Supervision and Review process. All staff are expected to comply with the procedures related to this process.

All members of staff are required to undertake that they will not divulge to anyone personal and/or confidential information to which they may have access during the course of their work.
Salary
£14 per hour
Hours and terms
12 Hours per week (flexible throughout the week)
Location
Office based at: 17L Windmill Way, Ramparts Business Park, Berwick upon Tweed.
