Pride Action North
Responsible for working with children and young people aged 8-25. You will assist and support the development of youth club’s across Northumbria, sharing responsibility for the delivery of activities to young people in youth work settings. You will support young people’s personal, social and educational development holistically in line with national standards of practice including working collaboratively with partners to expand youth work opportunities.
Below, is a typical description of the roles carried out by a Youth Worker.
- Plan and deliver face to face youth work within communities across Northumbria as directed.
- Support the delivery of Youth Work activities that support the development of new projects across Northumbria.
- Support young people to become active in the development of their activities, as leaders and volunteers.
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in line with data protection requirements.
- Be responsible for own continuing professional development (CPD), participate in team meetings, training, supervision and appraisal as agreed with your line-manager
- Adhere to Pride Action North’s policies and procedures, promoting anti-discriminatory practice, inclusion and equity. Challenge unacceptable behaviour and promote inclusive attitudes.
- Ensure the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Work within organisational policies and procedures, reporting and taking action as required.
- Undertake other tasks as and when required in line with the level of responsibility of this post, determined by your line manager.
- Carry out duties in line with Northumbria Pride’s Policies, Procedures and Code of Conduct including, but not limited to, health and safety and data protection.

Voluntary, out of pocket expenses paid
Hours and terms
Hours: 25 Hours Per Week | Salary: £22,200 FTE pro rata for part time | Period: Fixed Term Contract initially to 31/12/2024, continuation subject to funding.
Location
Ashington Workspace, with travel across our operational area
