BID Services – Northumberland
We are seeking two Wellbeing Support Workers to join our Northumberland Sensory Services to provide high quality support to our service users who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Visually Impaired, Deafblind, and 16+ and live within the area of Northumberland. The role is based in the community and occasionally office based (Morpeth).
Main accountabilities of the role are (list is not exhaustive):
- Offering information, advice, and guidance on a range of topics using appropriate communication methods
- Provide information on specialist equipment’s and their use
- Dealing with referrals
- Promoting independent living by advising and signposting to services
- Undertaking assessments, support plans and Risk Assessments
- Working with third party agencies
To be successful for the role you will have:
- Experience in Working with people with a sensory disabilities (Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deafblind)
- Experience in undertaking needs-led assessments
- Experience in providing Information, Advice and Guidance
- Strong IT skills
British Sign Language qualification would be desirable or to be able to communicate at a native level.
