Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland (RCTN) is the longest established Rape Crisis Support Service in the UK. We provide a range of specialist support services for women and those who identify women services are right for them, who have experienced sexual violence. Our services enable women and girls to address the wide-ranging impact of sexual violence on their lives including impact on physical and mental health and wellbeing.
RCTN is run by women for women, with a strong feminist ethos and specialises in providing services and information for women 13+ who have experienced rape or sexual abuse at any time in their lives. We campaign against the attitudes and behaviours which collude in allowing sexual violence to continue.
We are seeking an experienced and effective feminist leader for the role of Deputy CEO to oversee the delivery of services, operational and financial activity, and support the future developments of the organisation at a strategic level.
The Deputy CEO will assist in creating and executing business plans, shaping policies reflecting RCTN’s values, managing HR, Finance, data governance, and other key functions.
The post holder will be integral to ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service to our clients and have a good working knowledge of Safeguarding. A consistent presence in our Newcastle office is necessary. The Deputy CEO will work closely with the CEO, provide inspirational leadership to RCTN line managers, and be responsible for day-to-day management decisions.
You will have management/leadership experience in the charity sector and excellent communication and relationship building skills. You should also have some awareness of the impacts of sexual violence on women and girls. We can support the successful candidate with specialised sexual violence training if necessary.
