The death has been announced of Rodney James, who was the current Chair of Trustees for Northumberland CVA and had served in the post for nearly thirty years.
Caroline Rogan, Chief Executive of Northumberland CVA, paying tribute, said:
“It is with great sadness that I must announce that our Chair of Trustees, Rodney James has recently passed away.
“For nearly thirty years Rodney was a driving force for our Charity, his commitment was unparalleled. Rodney’s leadership of our Board of Trustees and support for the staff team, ensured Northumberland CVA continued to survive and thrive through changing times. Rodney was an integral part of the Voluntary Sector in Northumberland and well known across our membership, always willing to give his time to listen to, and champion, the issues that people raised with him. He had a forensic eye for detail and would happily give advice when approached. His strong faith meant he continued to be active as a volunteer in Ashington until recently, always supporting and advocating for the community,
“On behalf of our Trustees, staff team and volunteers I would like to offer my condolences to Rodney’s family.”
