Salary £13.50 per hour

Hours : 25 hours a week Monday to Friday, day and evening

With responsibility for Teen Bar evening sessions working with young people 11 to 19.

The Lead Youth worker will be based at our Silx Teen Bar project in Blyth and have direct responsibility of planning and delivery of Teen Bar evening, activities and projects, as well as the creation of new initiatives and interventions that will encourage participation and involvement.

As Lead Worker there will be an expectation, to plan, lead and be part of the team that deliver the evening sessions.

The Lead Worker Work will be expected to be part of a team that is involved in the delivery of the Employability work.  

The main duties are the following:

  • Support young people to get involved in the sessions and opportunities created by the project.
  • Support and guide the team of youth workers to deliver the programme and manage the evening sessions and interventions that may be organised.
  • Ensure that all activities are safely organised within the session and are delivered to the expected standard
  • Work closely with the team of workers to ensure that recording, monitoring of sessions are completed and any safeguarding concerns are reported to Development Manager
  • Report directly to Development Manager and work closely with Employability Progression worker on issues relating to young people and the organisation.
