Together we can make a real difference

Belonging to the Royal Voluntary Service community means inspiring volunteers to support the nation’s health and wellbeing. It means tackling the most pressing social issues in a workplace full of opportunities.

Through the gift of voluntary service, our volunteers provide much-needed support for over-stretched public services. They work at scale in the NHS, freeing up staff to dedicate more time to patient care and within communities to give practical help and support to people when they need it.

Our people are a welcoming team of individuals from every background who support one another to be their best. They are also some of the country’s most compassionate and dedicated people who step forward to help make society better connected and more inclusive – where everyone can thrive.

We’re looking for a part-time Service Co-ordinator to join us on a fixed-term contract until April 2022. We are open to considering job share opportunities.

Your role

As a Service Co-ordinator, you will support the delivery of our Healthy Happy Lives Support Service.

The Healthy Happy Lives Support Service aims to reduce isolation in older people through building their confidence to reconnect with their communities.

Covering activities in Rothbury, Alnwick and Wooler, you will:

  • Support colleagues to deliver Healthy Happy Lives sessions, such as exercise sessions or lunches
  • Build links with the community to strengthen and promote the service
  • Support the Service Manager in the recruitment, training and support of volunteers
  • Ensure the service operates in-line with regulations, such as Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Data Protection and Safeguarding

This is a part-time role working 21 hours per week, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9.00 to 16.30, on a fixed-term contract until the 3rd April 2022. This role will require a DBS check.

Other organisations may call this role Volunteer Co-ordinator, Community Services Co-ordinator, Volunteer Support Co-ordinator, Service Delivery Assistant, or Community Support Co-ordinator.

The closing date for applications is the 22nd November 2021, with interviews scheduled for the 24th November 2021. We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should sufficient applications be received.
