Thursday 13th May 2021, 2pm – 3pm
Online via Zoom
The VONNE Climate Action Alliance (VCAA) as part of its work with the North East England Climate Coalition is hosting this event to explore the challenges and opportunities for engaging particular groups (people of colour, younger people and people from disadvantaged communities) in addressing the climate emergency and climate action activities. Following useful discussions in the first meeting, The Alliance is continuing the conversation by working together to think about next steps to engage children and young people in getting involved in climate action
This roundtable is an opportunity for organisations with experience of working with children and young people to share insights on their experiences and highlight any challenges they would like help to overcome in relation to engagement with climate action. It would be useful for attendees to share examples of previous, current or planned projects and opportunities for others to get involved.
The Alliance would particularly welcome attendance from organisations that work directly with children and young people, even if they have no experience of engaging beneficiaries in climate action activities. The session is open to organisations that weren't able to join us in April and you might like to view and add to the Jamboard from the April session:
