Salary: £30,000

Deadline: Thursday 11 October at 09:00

First stage interview date: Wednesday 24 October

The Alnwick Garden is an iconic visitor attraction and award-winning social enterprise charity, contributing £200 million to our local economy and delivering an inspirational community engagement programme.

We are now seeking a strategic leader for our learning and education work, to build on the work we have done to date and significantly increase the scale and impact of our community engagement programmes. The role will develop and shape our Community and Education Teams and take responsibility for delivering engaging new learning and participation programmes in Alnwick and the wider region. In 2019 we will seek to build a new Community Education Centre in our Roots and Shoots Garden.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate experience in effective leadership and delivery of education and/or community programmes, complimented by great communication skills, drive to deliver change, and a team approach to working.

The role will act as an ambassador for The Alnwick Garden, ensuring that the learning and engagement strategy is always responsive to relevant policy and practice, connecting and extending The Garden’s broad portfolio of partnerships. It is also important to align all educational activities to the national curriculum.
