Age UK Northumberland is a values-led independent local charity which provides services for older adults, aged 50+, across Northumberland through the commitment and hard work of over 250 employees and 100 regular volunteers.

An opportunity has arisen to be a part of Age UK Northumberland’s successful Macmillan funded Cancer Advocacy project.  The Project is delivered by both staff and a network of volunteer ‘advocates’ – people who have had cancer or experience of caring for someone with cancer. Advocates typically help by accompanying people to meetings and appointments, identifying benefits and allowances they may be entitled to, finding information about housing options, locating local support groups and providing help when dealing with community care services.

The Case Support Officer will act as a first point of contact for clients, giving out information and support to the Advocates in their roles, and maintaining database information to support project outcomes.
