Sexual Violence and Older Women Project Launch

Sector Training & Events
Date: 02 July 2019 10:00 - 12:00

Venue: The Beacon, Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 9PQ

Research carried out by Dr Hannah Bows, Centre for Research into Violence & Abuse at Durham University, identified that older women face specific barriers and challenges which make it difficult to access support, this includes a lack of awareness of services and confusion around who can help them.  Rape Crisis Tyneside & Northumberland has been successful in securing funding to help tackle the barriers older women face and reach out to more survivors.  This event will celebrate the launch of the project and be a chance to find out more about this subject.  The event will feature a presentation and discussion: Sexual Violence & Older People.

This launch will consist of a networking session, followed by a talk/discussion with Hannah Bows and Margie Cooper about the SVAOW Project.  Organisations are welcome to bring along their promotional material to have an information stall to share their work to other agencies.

If you wish to have one of these stalls on the day you must contact Margie by 31st May 2019.  Email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or call 0191 222 0272.
