Advice for VCSE organisations

Our colleagues at North Tyneside VODA have published and shared a collection of short animated videos to support VCSE organisations and volunteers:

If you would like some specific guidance for charities and community organisations, NCVO has published a useful page with practical advice that they are regularly updating as information and advice develops - here

Charity Digital has collated some great information covering communications, health and safety, resilience, planning and offering reassurance and clarity to staff - here

In this Civil Society blog, David Ainsworth of Catalyst looks at how to make work remotely work for your charity - here.

The coronavirus outbreak has sparked concerns around what rights someone has when it comes to sick leave or how employers should handle a situation at work. Read the Acas guidance.

If you need to provide advice to service users in languages other than English; Doctors of the World are able to share with you the Coronavirus (Covid 19) advice for patients in a range of languages, which were produced in partnership with the British Red Cross, Migrant Help and Clear Voice. More languages are planned to be added. Please find them here.

There is also an easy read guide and photo poster which you may find useful.

Local support groups

A number of COVID-19 Mutual Aid Groups and other groups e.g.  Isolation Help Northumberland, Helping Hexham, Proud of Prudhoe have cropped up in local areas. Search Facebook to find ones close to you.

While we welcome the community spirit of local people who want to support people in need we do have safeguarding concerns and ask people to be cautious. Only use people you know and trust wherever possible, do not let unfamiliar people into your home and do not give out bank cards.

Voluntary and Community Sector Support

Northumberland CVA is putting together a list of voluntary and community sector organisations, local support groups and local businesses that are willing to provide help to support local communities. You can look what is available in your local area on the following Website

If you are a voluntary and community organisation, local support group or local business and want to be added to the sheet please complete the following survey
